Katrina Kaif has always been appreciated as a fashion icon in the film industry ever since she started with her western and Indian look that she carries with flare, but lately it has been rumored that she also did her own shopping for her wardrobe for her newly released movie Namastey London, and if that is so, the girl has got style, despite the Katrina's skirt scene controversy, where it was said that she had worn a short skirt to Dargah, which had greatly displeased the Dargah committee.

Preity Zinta’s court case.

Preity Zinta went to court recently for the first hearing of her defamation case, which she has filed against Mumbai tabloid Mid-Day.

The defamation case was filed on July 15, 2005, after Mid Day published the part of the tête-à-tête that depicted to the actress in a controversial way. During the hearing Preity Zinta said, “That news piece was completely fictitious. It is very shocking to Indian morals. It doesn’t serve as news but is cheap; such language corrupts and depresses the young people who read the newspaper.”

Though Preity Zinta was not present in India at the time when the article was published, she says, “I felt humiliated as it spoiled my reputation and character in public.”

She was cross-examined by the defense lawyer during the hearing and has been asked to be present in court on April 11 for the second hearing.

When asked she stated that, “I am very grateful to the judge and very happy that at least I am getting hearings. These things will not happen in one day. A journey of thousand miles begins with a single step.”

Kareena is rocking it!

So much has been said about Kareena Kapoor’s dance number in the up coming movie Kya Love Story Hai, where she guest stars along Tusshar Kapoor, Ayesha Takia, and the new guy, Karan Hukku. The track on which Kareena performs on is called, It's Rocking Yaara Kabhi Ishq To Karo.

Another Bachchan

Shweta Nanda, daughter of movie megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan and sister to Abhishek Bachchan, is the only one in her family that has not taken an interest in facing the camera, but now she has decided to anchor a show in private business channel.

When asked about it, the lady replied, "I had never planned on facing the camera. All these years, I was happy being a mother to my kids and staying in the background. But now that my children are grown up, I have the time on my hands and the concept of the show really excited me, so I decided to go for it".

Namesake

The Namesake - a movie that has a title like that is sure to attract curiosity and fascination. It certainly gripped my attention.

The Namesake is directed by Mira Nair, who also bought us movies like Vanity Fair and Monsoon Wedding. This movie is about American-born Indian named Gogol, who comes from a family of Indian immigrants, and wants to fit in and be like his fellow New Yorkers, despite his family's reluctance to let go of their customary and conventional ways. The movie explores the clashing of two cultures and two different ways of life. It’s a family drama that tells a story of a present-day American family that come to New York from India to find the world of boundless opportunities for their future.

A New Guy In Town

There’s a new guy in town, and he’s name is Karan Hukku. This good looking actor made he’s break through in Bollywood when he become the second runner-up at the Grasim Mr. India 2005 Finals. He hails from Kashmir, and comes from a family that has nothing to do with fashion or movies. However, he initially joined the modeling industry to get noticed and become an actor. He was also seen in a Pepsi commercial with likes of Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor, which gained him a lot of recognition and exposure.

Jackie's tangle with the Law

He's considered one of Bollywood's most jovial personalities, however this time Jackie Shroff is stuck in a legal tangle. A local court in Mumbai has issued a non -bail able warrant against the actor.
Jackie Shroff confirms the news saying, “There was some problem regarding a business deal of my old movie. The matter was in court but they are pulling it out now. The court has put up a stay on it." He further adds," It’s just that my secretary and lawyer reached late at the court. They however, reached the court and the court has passed a stay order now.”

No Offence

Indian megastar Hrithik Roshan is again involved in a controversy for providing witty remarkabout his colleagues Aamir Khan and Salman Khan on director Karan Johar's talk show "Koffee With Karan", where when asked between the two Khans - Aamir and Salman – who would he like to work with. To which he answered, there wasn't much of a choice since they were both of the same height. Matter of fact it was Salman Khan who showed him how to work out and eat appropriately to put on muscle for his roles in his pervious movies. Hrithik claims he "I certainly didn't mean any disrespect to Salman or Aamir. In fact after the comment on their height, my next statement was - 'That's the only department where I can score over them.' Aamir and Salman are such awesome talents. They're legends. It'll take me years to get anywhere near them." Surely there is space for sense humor in this industry.

Is love conventional?

Amitabh Bachchan is far more than just another dominant figure in Bollywood, as he has managed to reign supreme from the 70s despite continuous competition from new heartthrobs of the industry. Anyone that is a fan of Amitabh Bachchan, would know that Mr. Bachchan has an amazing ability to get to away with any types of roles, but it has to be seen if that is still possible with his new role in his upcoming movie Nishabd.Nishabd is a story of an older man and young girl. It’s about attraction between two people despite their age difference and social decree. The movie directed by Ram Gopal Verma, and is rumored to be found on Vladimir Nabokov's novel Lolita. It has an unconventional storyline, which is altogether a tabooed subject in the Indian society. As for the leading lady of the movie, Jiah Khan, who was born New York, but brought up in London, this is her debut Hindi movie.

SRIDEVI RETURNS

Sridevi, who is also known as the Hawa Hawai Girl of Bollywood, left the film industry after the super hit Judaai (1997) to start a family with her husband film producer Boney Kapoor and raise their two daughters, Jhanvi and Khushi. But now she is rumoured to be back. That’s right people, after Sridevi's stunning performance dance performance at the 52nd Fair One Filmfare awards; the buzz is that Mrs Boney Kapoor is back. the rumours are that she has signed up with two big production houses, with the movies written with Sridevi as the main focus.
While that may be husband Boney Kapoor is also planning really special project for his wife. "Yes, I am certainly planning something with Sridevi," laughs Boney. "But her comeback requires a lot of care. At this stage, she can't do a film just for the heck of it," he says. But when this leading lady was questioned, this is what she had to say, "its true there have been offers. In fact, they never stopped. But I've been working so long it has to be something that really excites me. It has to be an offer that coaxes me out of home. So far I've just been happy looking after my husband and two daughters. Cinema has changed a lot since I was last seen in Judaai."
"I'll do another film only if it gives me enough incentive to leave my home and family in the care of domestic help. In fact, one reason why I agreed to dance at the 52nd Fair One Filmfare awards was because the rehearsals were held at home".
